I have updated my iPad 2 to ios5 and iTunes on pc to 10.5. When ad is connected via USB I check the enable wifi sync on the summary page of my iPad. When I disconnect cable and plug iPad into power, the sync now under wifi sync remains greyed out. I have been browsing the Internet for solutions, of which none have worked. I am on a Verizon fios router, not sure if that matters. I even went as far as to disable the firewall and enable tdp ports 123 and 3689 and udp ports 123 and 5353 for iTunes specifically. Still greyed out. Any help?

I had the same question. I was told in the Apple Store it's because I have the iCloud enabled. I also made sure to have all the appropriate boxes checked in iTunes. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have tried with both iCloud and computer enabled backups. Nothing's worked yet.

Just a thought. Have you authorized the computer? Would that make a difference?

Connect your iPad to your computer and launch ITunes. When the iPad appears in iTunes go to the summary screen and down near the bottom there is a box to check that enables the iPad to be synced via wifi. I found that it was uncheck by default.
