iPad not syncing due unknown error (-50)

When I try to sync my iPad it gets as far as importing photos and I get an error message that the iPad cannot be synced due to an unknown error (-50). I have tried deleting the iPod cache in iPhoto library and also in Pictures but to no avail.

Please help!

where do you want to sync photos to your ipad?

Though I don't have a fix for you, Error -50 is a timeout error.
