iPad HD version connecting with iPhone non-HD version via Game Center?

I've been thinking of buying Fruit Ninja HD for my iPad 2, but I don't know if I would be able to play multiplayer mode with my friends who have the regular iPhone version. Anyone knows?

The Ipad and Iphone versions are seperate, so I would guess not, but others here will know more, I'm not really a hard core gamer anymore

It's a shame how developers try to make more money by pushing out the HD versions as separate. It the exact some content.

I played MetalStorm on iPad against someone on iPhone, so it is possible,
But I don't think it is for every game or app.
