All,
I am interested if there is a way (app) to connect the iPad to a database.

The premise is that one would fill out a form on the iPad. A number of forms could be completed and when the iPad regained connectivity, it would securely transmit the form data to the database. In other words, the app must be fully functional without a 3G/Wi/Fi connection.

Once the data is received, some background calculations would be performed and the overall result (limited data) would be transmitted back to the iPad. No calculations would be made in the iPad (to speak of).

The entire database would NOT be kept on the iPad.

Today, iPad 1 would be submitting data to Database ZZ while iPad 7 would be submitting data to Database RR.
Tomorrow, iPad 1 would be submitting to Database DD while iPad 7 would be submitting data to Database PP.
In other words, only one iPad would be working with a database at a time however, the database would be accessed by a number of iPads.

Now to top off my dream list, I would like a full reporting functionality on the back end. The reports do not need to be transmitted to the iPad (except as a PDF file via email).

Any idea would be greatly appreciated.
