I'm new to Apple, just bought my first product (ipad 3) about a week ago. I've got the Wireless only version. I'm now getting an iPhone 4S through work. Is it possible to use the iPhone in order to surf the net on the iPad when I'm not in range of any wireless hotspots?
Just to add.... I assume that your Mobile plan has to 'include' tethering as a part of your data quota, otherwise they'll charge you lots? (mind you... if work are paying.... then no worries!)
Yes. Some carriers charge just to allow tethering. Others block it completely. I guess I'm lucky that Telus are only interested in the amount of data you use.
Best I've heard of with Telus is 6Gb a month and that's some fancy student-only plan. Don't know about the east, but Telus has BC and Alberta pretty well wrapped up.
I think I should move to Lloydminster and hook up with SaskTel.
