Things are really heating up, with the upcoming launch of the next generation iPad. Every day seems to be bringing a new leaked part that is speculated to be part of the iPad 3. This time we have the front glass and digitizer assembly. But judging by the pictures found online, there’s no noticeable difference, nothing spectacular to hang on to. Is Apple just messing with our heads?

On a closer inspection we find there’s no change to the Home button, front-facing camera position or the way the light sensor is positioned. The pictures are available for preview curtsey of Sina Weibo. The only thing that seems to be different is the ribbon cable located on the side of the glass, which goes as far as reaching half-way up the device. On the iPad 2 the cable was shorter.

The same person goes on to say that the reported A5X SoC is actually a dual-core processor and not a quad-core like it has been rumored in the past and most enthusiasts were hoping for. The good news, he says, is that the next generation iPad will come equipped with Siri – the personal intelligent assistant who has been sported only by the iPhone 4S so far.

The iPad 3 encapsulates a lot of hopes and dreams. It has been reported that when it finally rolls out, it will incorporate a wonderful and spectacular Retina display (say Apple employees), a logic board with a supposed A5X chipset. It has also been envisioned that the new tablet will be slightly thicker than the previous model.

More, the next generation iPad is expected to be released on March 7th and to sport a resolution of 2048 x 1536 on a 9.7-inch, better battery life and probably 4G capabilities.
