I use a web browser to access business information, unfortunately I cannot see the scroll bars on iPad to scroll a frame within the page. I have tried the two finger scroll this also does not work. I have tried most of the browser apps to no avail, would appreciate any thoughts from anyone to try

Thanks

Two finger scrolling takes a bit of practice but, if it's an embedded frame, then it should definitely work. If you are still having problems could you post the URL of the site that you're trying to access so we can see what the problem is?

That's just really unusual, I have a few browsers, they all scroll. I would close your apps in the multi task bar ie double press the home button and the multi task bar will be revealed long press an app until it wriggles and minus signs will be revealed at the top left corner, press these minus bars. This will close your apps. Have a try then of a browser, if that still doesn't work, turn your iPad off completely by holding in the power button at the top right of the iPad until a slide appears to Power Off. Slide this, your screen will go dark with a Whirly in the centre. Wait until that disappears completely, this powers it off completely. Now long press the power button again until an apple appears, you will have to wait again until your screen comes back on, then you should be set to go. Try your browser now. If that doesn't work you'll have to do a reset. But try if first and we'll see. If needed ill tell u what to do next Good luck

Unfortunately it is a proprietary franchise website so cannot post link, the weird thing is when you look on a PC there are to scroll bars one for the page one for the frame, on the iPad 2 neither of these appear!

Thanks for your suggestions I will try again.

OK - that's because the iPad identifies Safari as a mobile browser and a PC doesn't. If the worst comes to the worst, you could try a third party browser, such as iCab which can tell a website that's it's Internet Explorer, if you want it to. Then those scroll bars would appear!!

Since it is a proprietary site (and we have no idea what plug in may be driving it) it is entirely possible that Safari on the iPad will not work. The iPad does not support Java, Silverlight, Flash, or some of the other less well known plug ins that can be used to do this.

The alternative would be to use a remote control app like Splashtop to run the web browser on a desktop computer. It's a bit more awkward, but many users have found it a satisfactory solution. Splashtop is very user friendly, but no terribly secure (people can see what you are doing if they look at the desktop). Other remote solutions may be harder to set up, but deal better with security.

You may have already given it a shot, but the Dolphin browser is a relatively new entrant in the browser options for the iPad. Free in the App Store. Has some nice features.
