IPad 2 camera app

I'm just coming to terms with my new iPad2 but I have problems with using the supplied photo app. I have noticed that when you zoom in the camera looses focus and image is pixelated. Is this the norm and if so,have you any recommend apps as a replacement ???. Also is it possible to zoom while making a video,I haven't been able to work this out?

The reason why this happens is that the zoom function is a digital,rather than an optical zoom.Digital,zooms work by blowing up the size of the pixels.Eventually,if you zoom in far enough,you will see the blur and pixelation.
As far as I know,you can't zoom while shooting video with the standard camera app.

There are many camera apps in the app store,some of which support video zooming.
