iPad 2 battery temperature app

Did a search in app store and here w/o success. Anyone know of apps that will monitor battery temperature on iPad 2?

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to monitor the battery temperature on iPad 2?

Have an sd card rooted Nook Color and monitored the battery temp while charging (apps available in the Google and Amazon markets). Useful in the warmer ambient temperatures. Don't want the battery getting too hot.
Wanted to see how much temp differential there was between charging with and without the smart cover.

Apparently that's not an option with the iPad2.
