Anyone having trouble w/text showing up as ur own number instead of the name or number that sent the text to you?

I just got an iPad . my husband and I have iPhones and after I signed the iPad up w/our iCloud my text messages to my husband are coming up on his phone as his own cell number instead of my name or number.

I thought it was text plus application but when I turned off iMessaging he began receiving my texts w/my name. Odd and frustrating.

Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Are you both signed up to the same iCloud account? If so, it will use the number/name of the device that registered it to iCloud. If you want to have the other person's name appear, you'll need to set up two iCloud accounts.

The iCloud is signed up under my # but my husband receives my text under his number. So he can set up his own iCloud? Isn't the icloud the same as iTunes acct info ? Would he lose his iTunes info frm my acct? I guess so. Hmmm. Thank u

Also, the iCloud account is under my # and his phone receives my texts showing his phone number is texting instead of mine. I found on the apple support to just add the number to my contact info on his phone which I did and it's masked the problem
