Good shot of the contrail too plus great colour to greet you when exiting work. Does Regina have a curfew for earliest overflights of the city? Adelaide's is 6 am.

I've seen planes fly overhead at all hours of the night. There's about a 5 hour period in the middle of the night when planes don't land or take off, though. Cities in Canada have no power to regulate flights over the city at high altitude, although they can regulate the hours of operation of the airport.
It's only at this time of year that sunrise occurs right around the time I get off work.

Money for nothin' and the chicks for free!

In descending order of my competence, saxophone, wind synthesizer, guitar, flute, bass, keyboard synth, and drums.

I started on drums, switched to sax, and became first sax in the all-state band every year that I was eligible. I was playing tenor at the time, and that honor goes to the first alto player by default, so it was quite a coup to take that from the alto. It's like a viola player being concertmaster in a symphony orchestra (unheard of).

So I got in a band with my buddies, while I was still in junior high school. We were terrible, but everybody was back then. The school hired us to play for a dance in the gym. So here I was, on stage with my best friends, playing the music we loved, and as I looked out over the audience, that cute girl who didn't even acknowledge my existence in English class was 'making eyes' at me. And at the end of the night, they actually paid me money!!! (Little did they know I would have paid them for that). I knew that's what i want to be when i grew up. I've been pro since 1964 and I realize I don't have to grow up!

I learned sax and drums in school, the rest was taught by other musicians in various bands I've been in and a good share of self instruction. Once you learn 'music theory', the rest is just learning to control the instrument.

I took electronics in college, and I would have made a lot more money as and electronics engineer, but doubt if my life would have been this happy up to this point (and for the projected future).

Being a musician isn't what I do, it's what I am.

But this is a picture thread.

My current sax - custom made for me in Taiwan by a company based in Texas. There are only two like this that I know of. This one, and another they made for someone who liked mine so much that he asked the company to make one like it for him.

Wanna see my guitars too?

Bob

Sure, guitars are lovely. :)

I love to play with instruments. I don't have the dedication to master them.

These are Parkers. Ken Parker is an innovative luthier and although his company was purchased by US Instruments, his design features live on in a company that can handle the marketing and distribution.

Stainless steel frets, ebony fretboard, radial neck design, contoured, well balanced, locking tuners, straight string path, and in addition to the magnetic pickups, a piezo pickup under the bridge that I can blend with the magnetic pickups. They stay in tune, bend stings like a hot knife through butter, and sound great. Plus they are only 5 pounds but do to the radial neck, sustain as long as my 8 pound Les Paul model.

The picture is from my phone and washed out, they are more honey colored than this.

The one on the left is stock, the one on the right is custom made for me. The pickups can be switched to P90, Rail, Series Humbucker or Parallel Humbucker. Along with the Piezo they have a very wide variety of sounds and can sound like 4 or 5 different guitars plus (so I only have to take one to the gig, along with the sax, flute and wind synthesizer).

Googled frets and bent stings and feel much more knowledgeable about things today:D. That's some great equipment you have there Bob. And you've certainly chosen a career that is very satisfying. I think equipment is one thing but to stay in your field for so long, obviously enjoying it, must mean you have tons of talent there. Good on ya!
