How force iPad know abt equal to about ?

When I type abt , iPad will change to bat . How to tell iPad accept abt in the memory ?

in settings, general, keyboard, turn off auto correct. I turned off auto capitalization also, since it drives me nuts (short trip).

You can click on the x when a word change comes up before pressing space and it will accept your spelling.
