It gets recognized as a mobile device. Same thing with an iPhone. You can ways just switch to desktop mode.

It's based on what they call a 'user agent'. The user agent depends in the device your using. It can tell if your running IE or Mozilla or Chrome, it also can tell Safari browsers and Linux, the kind of phone is also there. Windows phone, iPhone, Android tablet or phone.
