How do I delete photos with damaged files?

I enjoy looking at my photos on the iPad 2, and have been downloading them from the various photo sites I use and using an app. to put them in topic- or subject- related folders. Two photos I downloaded do not show up in the normal Apple "Photos" folder but they show up as blank squares labeled JPEG in the app. view of the Photos folder. How do I delete these? The app. will not import them to the screen from which I could delete them, and the normal Photo folder won't show them at all... I think there must be a problem with the files on the photo site, although they display normally using a browser to view the site.

When I say "they do not show up" I mean that the thumbnails are blank squares that when you click on them do not display an image.

In the Photos app, ensure you are in the Photos view, not Albums view.

Then, press the curvy arrow on the upper right. Select the picture(s) you want to delete (you'll get little blue check marks in the bottom right of the photo). Once you are finished checking the photos, press the red Delete button in the middle-ish top of the app.

That should work to delete those "bad" photos. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Thank you, Marilyn. That did the trick! I came to the iPhone and now the iPad from the PC world, so some of the things that seem intuitive to MAC users are not so obvious to me. Well, that's my excuse anyway. (wry grin)

Oh, I wish it were intuitive! :D

These kind of tips and tricks are what you discover if you hang out here. I didn't figure this one out by myself, someone else did way back and I just happened to remember it. That's why this forum is so awesome!

Glad it worked for you, too!
