Just found this forum & found a mass of helpful info, especially re: traveling in Italy with an iPad. I'm planning on leaving the MacBook at home.

I have been following the thread on navigation apps. Has anyone used the Navmii Italy GPS HD? I don't want to rely on a mobile signal in Sicily & don't wish to spend $90 for Tom Tom Western Europe when I have no immediate plans beyond my trip in September.
