Hello New to this forum - have video q;uestion on ipad2

i am considering buying an ipad2 so I can video my daughter's basketball games using it. I found a good tripod mount at a website called "ishot" that I could use on my existing tripod so I don't have to hold it the entire game. Does anyone have experience with the video camera for something like this? From all the info I've been reading the cameras are not that great.
