I just use the wall charge. I really don't trust USB charging....

Just use the wall charger it works every time. No need for meters I would only connect the Ipad and iPhone once a week to USB just to back up and maybe alter sync for music and apps etc but not for charging

God, I can't wait for Apple to finally get off their asses and add wireless syncing. The Zune has had it for three years already.
