I have a ipad2. And iMac. The iMac is using mail via virgin media , when I added mail to the iPad using the same addresses , I ended up not only my virgin accounts but also gmail with same account , gmail as embedded itself Also on the iMac , it keeps downloading old emails that will not delete via mail . It also creates email for every word that I type .even though It only sends one .

How can you get rid of it. As i never wanted it. But must have hit the wrong key

If I understand correctly…
On the Mac select Mail/Accounts and see the mail account on the left column and highlight the one you want deleted. Go to the bottom and click the minus (-) button and you’re done. Then start over with the correct account you want to configure.

Ok, on the iPad select Settings/Mail…/Accounts/ click the arrow. A screen appears which allows to select ‘Delete’. Go back to Accounts and select ‘Add Accounts’ and start over. In your case, you will select ‘Other’ from the options list to configure Virgin, etc..

Hi thanks for replying

However. I have been trying to do that , but I tried again when you replied on the iPad I removed all accounts and added one and gmail still came up , I tried each one in turn , removing each one before trying the next , but they all brought gmail as well

This is most likely being cause by your Virgin Mail setup on the server.

You've probably associated a GMail account with it. Go to your Virgin Mail account in a browser and go through all the settings to find and disassociate the GMail account.
