External Battery

I'm going to be traveling soon on a long flight and want to ensure my Original iPad (ie. iPad 1) does not run down and become unusable during the flight. I have researched many external battery packs which state they are for the iPad. Does the term "iPad" mean all generations of iPads, including the Original iPad? I am looking at battery packs in the 9,000 - 12,000 mAh USB size, but am concerned these will not work with the iPad 1. Any advice is welcomed.

iPad 1 has the smallest battery capacity. Anything that will work well on newer iPads (excluding the 4th gen iPad with it's Lightning connector) will work even better with the original.
