Hi,

I wonder if anyone has experience reading documents on encrypted USB drives with the iPad (3rd gen, if that matters). I have an adapter for plugging USB drives into the 30-pin port, but I haven't been able to do anything other than import photos, and not from an encrypted drive.

Thanks,
Matt

Unfortunately, all you can do with a stock iPad and that camera connection kit (CCK) IS view photos. It was designed that way by Apple to be able to quickly view any photos taken with a camera while you are out and about.

With a jail broken iPad, you can use the CCK to view just about anything from an SD Card or USB stick (that's self-powered). Not sure about the encrypted part, though. Never tried.

But, with a stock iPad, it's only photos. Sorry.
