Do i need internt Security for my ipad

Hi
can some explain if you need Internet security on the iPads because I been in to currys and the guy said I don't need any because no won write viruses for apple software. I am just a bit lost because I did protect my first pc and it got over run the viruses

Currently, there are no known viruses for the iPad. That's not to say there won't be, but so far, so good.

As long as you practice safe browsing so that you don't accidentally expose your personal info (e.g use https, secure sites, don't respond to bogus e-mails or phishing, etc), you'll be fine.
