Deleting incomplete app downloads

When I tried to download apps using 3G connection, iPad2 prompted that app is more than 20mb and asked to use wifi.
I am traveling and will not have access to wifi for a while. For now these apps stay at message 'loading' and are not letting me delete the apps. The delete icon does not appear for these apps.
The prompt for switching to wifi keeps coming frequently and is annoying.
Any help in getting rid of these apps?

If you tap on the loading app, it should pause. If I remember right (can't test it at the moment) when it is paused you can tap and hold on another app to start the jiggle, and the paused app will be deletable.
