Creating email filters

On my laptop, I create filters to stop certain sites sending spam, I do this on gmail and outlook express, can I do similar on my iPad?

Not directly on the iPad, but if your email service allows you to set up filters in the site, those should work on the email before it gets synced to the iPad. iCloud accounts can do this on the icloud.com site (from a computer). Gmail also has filter setting on the web side. I'm not sure about others.
