Could not access iTunes store

Hi,

I have recently taken the ipad2. This is my first apple device.

I was getting used to it gradually.I could not connect to the iTunes store.

When I press the iTunes icon in the home, am getting the following msg.

"could not connect to iTunes store"

But I could access the podcast and iTunesu links.

Could anyone tell me what should I do to access iTunes store.

I have been having the same problem logging on to the apple store. I live in Nigeria and have the Ipad 1
