Contacting the iPad server??

Hello I have tried for 2 days straight trying to update my iPad 2. Yes I have iTunes 10.5. All it does is hang up tying to contact to the iPads server and it doesn't down load the new OS. It also does the same thing when trying to update my iPhone 4?? I have tried rebooting with no luck. Any ideas to help?? Thanks in advance!

Are you updating from within iTunes?

Yes I am and it just gets stuck on contacting to the iPad software server. with a progress bar that doesn't do anything??
