Can't find bluetooth devices

I had a Logitech bluetooth speaker connected to my iPad. After a week of not using it I turned it and the iPad on and tried to get them to connect. The iPad said it was connecting to the device and the speaker light indicated it was ready to connect but after a long time it wasn't happening. I tried having the iPad "Forget the device" and tried to get them to pair again but the device couldn't be found. I turned bluetooth off and back on and also tried turning the iPad and speaker off then on several times. Nothing helps. The iPad still indicates it is seeking devices with no luck.

What else can I do? Could the bluetooth function of the iPad have gone bad?

Found my problem. I was using the wrong combination of buttons on the speaker to make it discoverable. Works now.

Thanks
