Can get sound through iPad onto tv but no picture

I'm a newbie, would really appreciate any help,I'm trying to solve this so my son can play games through the iPad onto tv, as I said sound but no picture.

Not enough information to help you.
With apple tv it's simple to set up what you want, but are you using some kind of cable?

What type of tv? Does it have compatible inputs? Try a different tv?

What iPad version do you have?
