Click "Top charts" on the bottom menu bar when you open the App Store on the iPad. On the right you can then scroll down through the 50 most popular free apps. Check every few days as new ones rise to the top.

I also recommend checking out the top list in the app store every now and then. On the paid list, discount apps will rise to the top and on the free side, the faad apps usually rise to the top too.

The NASA app is free and you can watch (now) live the return of the space shuttle Endeavor from the International Space Station - plus look at all the other NASA space missions.

For those in the UK, the SkyNews app is great and, of course, the BBC's iPlayer as well as Channel 4's 4oD.

Neu Annotate PDF - I picked that up as a freebie, excellent for annotating pdfs.

Maps+ for maps
iChromy as an alternative browser
TED for lectures (too much like school?)
NPR for arts and music news
SquareEyes for lowbrow vids.
Super8 for making your own lobrow vids.
Hunter for new music discoveries
VideoJug for how to do those things you never knew needed doing
River Test for the impossible problem only 10% of the world can solve
Rush Hr Free for those double parking problems
Free Lunch - there's no such thing as a free lunch app.

Sent from my iPad using iPF
