Hi

My battery seams to drain a lot when not in use and wondered if it is because I have 7 or 8 pages open in the background in Safari, wondered if they kept updating or if they are like snapshots and only update when I activate the page to view, should I close these pages down each time before putting the iPad to sleep with the smart cover?
Is the any other things I should look to do, I only use the wireless at the moment as my wife has our shared sim in her iPad,

You are right - they are just 'snap shots' and no updating is being done, so there's no need to close those pages. When you say that your battery drains a lot when not in use, how much are we talking about here? There's not much background activity when the iPad is in Sleep - it will check for email updates, if you've set that up - and WiFi and GSM will be active, unless you've switched them off, but that's about all. Some Members have commented that, if you have Apple's 'Ping' service activated that seems to drain the battery quite quickly but, other than that, I can't think of any particular reason why you should be seeing this.

Is this a new problem that you're experiencing, or has it always been like this?

the altermator is bad... and also your battery is old. and is not holding the charge...

but if you have some tools you can remove your alternator and take it to a autozone or places like that, and they can check if your alternator is bad or is your battery that is not holding the charge..

iPad is only a couple months old, but only just started using it on a daily basis, I shall monitor over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the feedback
