Art Studio App for iPad

Hi, everyone,
I'm a quilter, and I would like to find a way to use my iPad to support my creativity. Art Studio looks interesting, but I don't know if it will work for what I want it to do. Basically, I want to take a picture of my quilt and then be able to draw various quilting designs on the photo to try out the designs before I actually stitch with thread. Any thoughts about how Art Studio might support that? Are there other art applications that might work better?

For simply drawing over photos, Sketchtime will do.

Sketchclub also would work. It and Art Studio are laden with filters,, layers and options that can be a bit overwhelming, but if you have used GIMP, or Photoshop, maybe not so.

Procreate would also be a wise choice.
