Hi everyone. Stumbled across the forum by accident today & couldn’t believe how clear & helpful the info was on the site. Waiting for my iPad 3 to arrive in the next few days. My wife has an iPad 2 & she loves it, so I never get to use it much. Also have the iPhone 4 & love it to bits.
Initially wanted to know about this jail-breaking business as I hate being restricted...not that I intend to do anything naughty...don’t have the time, let alone the knowhow. Just hate not being able to buy an album & put it on the 6 or so devices we have around the house, for example...that kind of thing.
Looking forward to finding out loads of cool things to do with my iSlate, as you are calling it, when it arrives.

Hi. Thanks for the welcome. Does the forum just cover iPad usage or are there discussions & solutions to iTunes issues as well?
I am having trouble getting iTunes to restore both my iPod touch or iPhone 4. Have reloaded a fresh copy of the software, but still hangs part way through.

Cheers

The forum covers all iDevices and iTunes. However if you want specialized information about iPhones we have a sister forum which you can find by following the link in my signature.

Are you getting any error messages at all? Do you have the latest version of iTunes available...10.6.3

Am using the latest version of iTunes. No error message, just gets 1/3 through & does nothing. Have left it over night & still where I left it in the morning.

I have iTunes also loaded on my work laptop. If I pull the plug & connect to the laptop, the restore completes in around 5 mins.

I thought I had a corrupt version of iTunes, so removed it & downloaded / installed a new copy. Same problem persists.

I will soon be giving up the laptop & don't want to jailbreak my new iPad if I can't restore. Have searched the iTunes help files but no help found.

This may be to do with the fact you are syncing to 2 different pc/laptop, just not sure though......I've moved your thread to our Help Section where you will receive a better response.

I moved it to restore on the laptop because it failed on the pc. Thanks for your comments & moving the thread.
