Apple TV and surround sound

Hi, can anyone help with this one?

I want to play music through my home cinema system , currently I have apple tv and digital tv running though a HD switch box as my Tv only has one HD socket. My surround sound is connected through a scart lead direct to the TV.
I can listen to music through apple tv on the tv but not through the surround sound. I have one Hd socket spare on the switch box and i have an unused HD socket in the back of my surround sound cinema system is there anything I can do, any reasonable suggestions would be very welcome

Which model? Your descriptions are too vague to give a definite answer, with the exact model, we can at least look up the inputs and outputs available to you.
