Out on a trip in Muncie IN today, hotel is almost right next door
to a BestBuy, so stopped in to handle one of the iPad2's, seemed
nice but I think I'll stick with the iPad I have now for a while.
BUT, while there, I got to type on one of the BlueTooth keyboards
by Apple, very sleek, had to get one, glad to have it on hand,

here are a few images shot in the hotel tonight;

the keyboard sits up at a slight angle, automatically due to the cylinder that holds the two AA batteries

The keyboard is just a tad longer than the iPad, figure a little over an inch longer,
but it fits into my 'Satchel' or as my daughter calls it, my Murse, short for Man Purse... she's such a card!
The keyboard's battery cylinder rests just along side of the iPad while in the leather Satchel in this photo
I have the iPad pulled out just a bit for the photo, otherwise it fits just right into the pouch...

handy deal, MUCH easier for me to type things out than on the iPad itself.
Impulse buy, but glad to have it now :)

Thanks for the great pictures - it looks really nice. How do you find it to type on compared to a 'normal' PC keyboard? I have a folding Bluetooth keyboard which is OK but very flimsy - I guess it almost has to be if it folds - but it's not as natural to type on as a PC...

Thanks, as you can see from the close up photo, the keys extend up for easy finger
placement, it's overall size is about what my Lenovo T400 notepad keyboard is and
I feel it types as well as that one does, good tactile feedback from pressing the keys.
I haven't seen the folding one to comare it to, but I would agree, there is probably
a compromise made in order to keep it small for portability.
This one feels rugged, being aluminum, I wouldn't stand on it though ;)

Outside my iPad, or was it inside?
Something really neat is it's stack ability with the iPad, as is shown on the two images, that is if you don't mind carrying the keyboard around unprotected, I certainly don't. That way the keyboard can be carried around while taking up almost no extra space.

I don't have my iPad yet, but this keyboard shipped weeks ago. I'm using it with my non-Apple PC.

I thought about the zagget thing but didn't want to be saddle with both
all the time, there are times when I'm reading a book or browsing the
internet that I won't need the keyboard and then I'm free to just hold
the iPad itself, so for me that's the path I chose, while the z thingy looks
to be better overall protection, I will stick to the handier carry/use type of style.
ps, sitting in bed at the hotel now, iPad propped up on a pillow and the
keyboard on my lap, easier to balance both things, and when finished,
I can just set the keyboard aside and go back to reading my book :)

I agree. The Bluetooth keyboard only comes out when more typing is needed but away for smaller jobs. I'm a trained typist but I have never been what you would call a texter as the keys have always been annoying on mobiles. It was the main reason I bought the iPhone as the keys were much bigger ( more so landscape). The keyboard is light and easy to carry around.

I love my Apple keyboard. I used to use one of those folding keyboards back in the Palm days and always thought it was lacking. I could type on my Apple one for hours and not miss my fullsized keyboard other than the number pad and you can get a bluetooth number pad if you are so inclined.

The only thing I do wish it had was a trim cover to keep the keys from being
pressed while transporting it, other than that, love it ;)

How well does it work? I'm assuming here that you're using it with a Windoze computer. I'm thinking of getting one specifically for my work computer (XP) but I don't know how it deals with things like cursor movement, pg up/down, home and end. I've seen conflicting accounts.

Good idea, just rather nothing was bangin' on it during travel
checked amazon, just spill covers was all they had, might get
my friend, he's a pretty good cabinet maker, do something for it
maybe, we'll see :)

Call me crazy but I thought the idea of the iPad was to get away from the laptop and people keep using things to make it a detachable screen for a laptop.

I agree, it is a standalone device, the blue tooth just helps old codgers
like me that never were very good at texting to use something we're more
familiar with, so for MOST of the time, the keyboard rests off to the side
but, like now ;), I just set it out so I can type more readily.
For browsing, reading, playing, I don't usually use the keyboard, but
for email and forums, it's a guilty pleasure, at least for me...
