I purchased it in the middle of a meeting because I wanted to be able to edit a Google Docs document. It took me nearly a week of back and forth with customer support before I was able to get it set up correctly. Works great once you get it set up, but they make it VERY difficult to figure out how to set up. I have not used Pages or Numbers so can't compare.
Look at it this way....you paid at least 500 for your iPad and MS Office full is several hundred bucks on the desktop. So it sounds like docs 2 go works well? The 11.99 sale price seems pretty fair. I just got my iPad and never spent more than 4.99 for an iPod touch app so initially seeing this at 14.99 now 11.99 is still a bit of a shock.
