Anyone got any Cunning Cloning tips?

Hi there!
If I had a British Pound for every alert I have received from 'Johhny Apple' since I signed up to this forum, I'd be able to
afford a new iPad mini...64GB!! Hopefully they will stop now I have posted something
If I back up my iPad 2 to iCloud, when I receive my iPad 4 on Friday and set it up, will it become an exact clone of my current iPad, with all apps in same places and on same pages? Or will they be all muddled up?
I want to be sure I set enough time aside in the day to set it up

Hi there and welcome.

Personally I do all hardware upgrades using iTunes on my Mac but it should be no different if you do it using iCloud. If you are going to an Apple Store to get your new iPad then they will set it up for you from iCloud.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. Hi and thanks - long story, but when I set up the iPad 3 last week using iTunes on my HP laptop (windows 7) all the apps were on different pages and I had lost the folders and the wallpapers. After hours of setting up the new iPad just right (OCD!) I discovered light bleed and had to sent the iPad back. New iPad 4 being delivered on Friday and so I was wondering if it was going to take as long to reorganise all the apps on to the correct pages or if, by using iCloud instead of the computer, I would get an exact replica of my iPad 2. Such a girlie thing!!

Well if I were you I'd try the set up from iCloud, if it doesn't work then you can restore and try with your laptop......that gives you two chances for a perfect transfer.
