3g on my iPad stopped working

I'm hoping someone can help. I've got an iPad 3g, which has a microsim from Vodafone here in the UK. Vodafone set it up and it was working fine for a few weeks. One day the 4g simply stopped working - I get full bars and vodafoneUK next to them but no 3g (or edge or any other kind of data via the sim).

WiFi is OFF, so it's not that.

I re-set the iPad hoping that would work and did a fresh re-install, but still no 3g. This has been going on for a couple weeks now and is just plain weird.

Has anyone else had this problem? I hate paying for a data plan that's useless.
Go into settings and make sure you have data on.

next check the APN settings and make sure they are correct for VadaFone
Check your user account at Vodaphone.
What limits do you have, do you need to top it up?
