    Perfect Web Browser

YES!!! I agree enthusiastically. I do not use the Safari browser anymore as the Atomic browser works almost like a normal laptop browser; tabs and all.

i have a problem with people who tell you that the ipad is not a computer

Ohhh!!! One BIG advantage that iPad has over netbooks.. something which all of us iPad users take totally for granted.... THE iPAD APPS!!!!!! Netbooks do not have the APPS!! Whatever it is, this is the one feature that even Android cannot beat. Android comes in a distant second!!

i have a problem with people who tell you that the ipad is not a computer

Muyoso, while I agree with some of your comments, mcbrew is entitled to his opinion. It is a matter of preference. Some people prefer the iPad over the computer for some tasks while others use computers because they feel that the iPad is not worth its price. I have a MacBook, a Win 7 laptop...

i have a problem with people who tell you that the ipad is not a computer

Henry, so what if the iPad is not a computer. Regardless of what Steve Jobs would like others to think, the iPad is not meant to replace the laptop or netbook. I would have just told this person politely that I know and that I do have a laptop but there are many advantages that the iPad has...

    Any thoughts on the .....

The Toshiba Libretto is an interesting gadget but it performs a very different function from the iPad. The Libretto is after all still a netbook. Win 7 is not designed specifically for the touchscreen as opposed to iOS. The software developers will not specially develop touchscreen Win 7...

Thoughts on the iPad - Three Weeks Later

Like most people, I initially thought that the iPad was a bad idea. How could the iPad ever replace the netbook. BUT that's exactly the point! It is not meant to replace the netbook. Whatever Steve Jobs may say to try and deceive the public, the present iPad can never replace the netbook...

    Cdn app store not available

Cat One other thing... in case you don't already know.. You can download iPad apps from Canadian iTunes through your Mac or PC. Then sync with your iPad. I don't know about Canada, but in Thailand, quite a few 3rd party apps are available already in iTunes. Just a thought....

    Cdn app store not available

Dear Cat I am sorry to inform you that the only way you can download iBook is to access the US iTunes. You can only way to access US iTunes if you create a US account. Unfortunately, to do that, you will need to have a US billing address. What I did was to ask my cousin who is living in the...

    Ibooks

IpadOne, once you authorize the laptop and download an app from iTunes of any country, the apps will then be saved in your laptop and you can then transfer to your iPad at any time.

    Ibooks

I am sorry. I don't understand your question. Let me explain. As you know, you need to download iBooks from US iTunes as it is not available outside US. I cannot log into the US iTunes using my account created in Thailand. I cannot create an account in the US because I need US billing address...

    Ibooks

Apple is pretty smart. Essentially you need a local address in whatever country you use; eg. A US address for US iTunes or in my case a Thai address for my thai iTunes. They verify your local address by the credit card billing address. So I had to use my cousin's US credit card to download the...

    Ibooks

I use two apps for ebooks; iBooks for .epub and GoodReader for .pdf. I use calibre to convert some .pdf to .epub. However, when I use calibre to convert magazines, strangely, the size is reduced and when I use iBooks, the print is rather small. For iBook, you can change the font size but you...

    Ibooks

Hey, I have just found out that I am able to do a direct USB transfer of files using iTunes and GoodReader. As such, I really like GoodReader as it can read .pdf files. By the way, I am using the iPad to type this comment and I must say that the keyboard is really really accurate, responsive...

Hi Kargurin Well, I know that Stanza, GoodReader and Kindle are available in Thailand. However, as you know, there was so much hype about iBooks when the iPad was launched! It is like THE app for iPad. That is why I was excited to try it. I believe Kindle is proprietary.. so it can read...

    PDFs

I use GoodReader for .pdf files. It is a pretty remarkable app. The only problem is.. if you are using a Mac with Snow Leopard, you will have problem transferring files using Computer to Computer Network. I ended up using Win 7 to do the transfer. But I love the UI for GoodReader. $0.99...

    Ibooks

Thanks Bremen... thanks Katherinelucy. You know what? By a stroke of luck, I managed to get my cousin in US to help me start an account. I downloaded iBooks :D:D It is a very pretty app but one big flaw. When I use calibre to convert .pdf to .ePub, the size of each page is slightly smaller...

Thanks Bremen and IpadOne for your recommendation. I will download Stanza. I have downloaded Goodreader but transferring ebooks to Goodreader can be a pain!! I am asking for my cousin's account id in the states.. I will try to download iBooks and upload here. Keep your fingers crossed for me...

    ibooks in app store

Rasputina Well, it is just Apple's way of controlling the market. I am in Thailand and I have just purchased an iPad. The iBooks app will only be available when the iPad is released here. However, your comment is not totally accurate as I am able to download some other iPad apps... just NOT...
