    iPad and office365

Doesn't work with iPad browsers Tried the beta and the full release. IPad does not recognise text areas as such. So you cannot enter text.

    iWork vs Office

BTW I have tried both the beta and release versions. Same issue on both.

    iWork vs Office

No I am afraid 365 does not work on the iPad. I have tried it. You can create a word document yes. You can open it yes. But you can't select the text area for input. The iPad on screen keyboard does not appear because the iPad does not recognise it as a text area. On top of this, the 365 word...

    iWork vs Office

MS are not that clear. They talk about 365 working across platforms, because it is web based. However it certainly doesn't work with any browser I have on my iPad. The browsers do not recognise text areas as such. Hence the cannot be selected and the on screen keyboard does not pop up.

    iWork vs Office

They have but it doesn't work... I got a beta account for office 365. You can see documents on your iPad from it but there is no way to edit or originate text. Sigh :(

Documents to go Premium plus dropbox equals great success

Depends on what you mean by support Tim. Docs to go will show changes, with old version text shown as strike through and new suggestion in red. It wii also show comments through a yellow highlighted markup. Click on the yellow and the comment pops up. However, the tracked change is converted...

Should I go for the external keyboard?

The Apple bluetooth keyboard is superb if you have a lot of text input to do. I tried the Zagg, but unfortunately mine fell apart. Ymmv.

How well does the iPad work for word processing?

If you want to produce simple documents, letters, even brochures, fine. Pages is pretty, if a bit unintuitive. Documents to go, Quickoffice and Office2 HD are all ok for opening and editing relatively simple documents. As a business tool where, inevitably you will be trying to work with...

Best apps for working with PDF, Excel and Word files?

Essentially, after much trial and error and despite wanting to believe that the iPad could be a viable business tool, I have admitted defeat and gone back to using a laptop, with windows, for all business purposes. I think the viable business tablet will come eventually. But I think those of us...

Best apps for working with PDF, Excel and Word files?

If you want to annotate PDF's on the fly an in a meeting, NoteTaker is good. Using a finger or stylus you can scrawl handwritten notes on the PDF or add shapes for callouts or add typed annotations. The office suites like Docs to Go, Quick Office and Office 2. Are all good at some bits, but not...

4.3 officially released today Mar 9

So, I have installed 4.3 and so far, apart from the orientation lock, no difference, nuttin, nada. Where are the gestures, the safari speed improvements? Having had my interest piqued I feel kind of let down, almost... ...well... ...used sob sob sob :)

    Creating and editing Word documents

I use Pages quite a lot, but I also have Docs to Go, Office 2, and Quick Office installed on my ipad. They all have limitations when it comes to handling files and working on Microsoft Word documents. I keep chopping and changing between them for different uses. Most of them are fine for...

Which iPad Case Do You Have? Rate It Out Of 10!

Foam detaching from the edges. Which is pretty fundamental to function. Surplus glue oozing onto iPad edge, gap starting to appear between the front edge of the keyboard and the case itself. Don't get me wrong, I think it is an excellent concept and Zagg are good at customer service. But I have...

Which iPad Case Do You Have? Rate It Out Of 10!

I have one, but sadly after a couple of months of use it is falling apart :( A pity because in principle it looks good and works well. Just let down by build quality.

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

Ooops! Zaggmate is now showing signs of wear. The foam has started to come away from the corners and a gap has started to appear between the front edge and the edge of the keyboard. Anyone else experienced this?

    Biggest annoyance with the iPad?

Flash seems to be the biggest bugbear for most people. For me though its not that important. I find there is very little I need to do which simply must have Flash. In fact the lack of it does remove some very annoying animations (adverts mostly) from some of the newspaper and blog sites i...

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

I leave bluetooth on all the time anyway because I use an Apple bluetooth keyboard in the office. So mine just pairs as soon as I turn the Zagg on. Every time, simples :)

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

I echo Rokr's comments about Zagg's customer service and particularly the way you respond to feedback Zagg. I would also like to see a development of the current product as I think a really good product could be turned into a superb one. And don't forget there is a huge user-base out there of...

Dropped mine onto tile floor. It was in a Zagg/keyboard combo. No damage whatsoever.

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

Well if you want to fly someone over to the States for a week or two of intensive user testing Zagg, let me know. I will accept business class and a little spending money :)

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

I don't think it is the thumb us per se that is the issue Zagg. I think it is the speed. When I slow down and become more deliberate with my spacebar taps I don't get the problem. A mobile keyboard was never made for high speed typing. For one thing it is slightly too small. Horses for...

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

I agree. I hated the idea of slowing down from my normal 70-80 wpm, But in practice I found I didn't have to slow down too much. Just became a little bit more deliberate with my spacebar hits. BTW I only use the Zagg keyboard when I am mobile. In the office I use the Apple bluetooth keyboard...

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

I bet, like me you are a 10 finger typist who hits the space bar with a thumb. I had the same problem.but it doesn't happen if I am more deliberate with the space bar, and type just a little more slowly.

I notice that a lot of detail is lost between the version on my iPad and the one on the site. Is there a reason for this?

You could always make one with a drill and a file. I am going to make headphone, speaker and volume switch cutouts on mine.

    Word - Excel - PowerPoint

I use Pages for word processing and Numbers for spreadsheets. They both have some limitations when working in an office environment. For instance Pages cannot track changes and sometimes screws up tables which were created in Word (particularly hates merged cells). But for producing fairly...

[Personal] Review of ZAGGmate (Bluetooth Keyboard/Case)

Personally, I have no problem. Most of the time my iPad is either sitting in the Zagg, upright, so I can use the keyboard or I have it laying on the Zagg lifted to a comfortable reading angle by the hinge. For me, the protection it gives, certainly outweighs any inconvenience. If you read my...

So is the skin people put on their Zagg just the same one they would put on the back of the iPad?
