Major back light leak on my new iPad

Bought it today at the local Apple store. Going to exchange it tomorrow. The view is looking up toward the top and yes this is a "new" iPad (iPad 3). Anyone else having this issue?

    Where's the data?

I've searched and searched but can't find an answer although I know it must of been asked and answered so excuse the redundancy please... Why is data backed up from apps like CNN and the like? I understand (I think) data being backed up from, say, a comic book app, Pandora (saved stations...

    App VS. data backup question

Got it, thanks. I thought it was that way but sometimes it's still hard to wrap my brain around the workings of iCloud.

What is your favorite ios5 update

It does look pretty cool. There are modified KB's within apps but I guess your right, it'd take a jailbreak to get it like it was native.

What is your favorite ios5 update

I love Reader. Gets rid of all the clutter reading articles in Safari. And there are many little positive changes. You can scroll on a text field now without having to keep pressure on the screen which is nice. Everything is snappier as well. Also I noticed now you can get a word definition...

Is the Sony Tablet a challenger to the iPad?

I doubt it. The 16GB Wi-Fi only is $80 more than the same iPad model. I could not find in depth specs either, battery life and so farth. There was a study/poll or whatever they call them just the other day that found no tablet can currently compete unless it at least $100 bucks cheaper. The...

    App VS. data backup question

This question may have been asked and answered but I can't find it with keywords here or googling either so pardon me if I'm being redundant... In the settings iCloud> Storage & Backup> Manage Storage> (tap on device name)> it has "Backup Options" and says to choose the data you want to back...

Cool, I'll check it out. ---- Sorry about the link, the rule slipped my mind.

    Who has tried AirPlay Mirroring?

I really like it. The video mirroring is acceptable but I've also found I do enjoy it's more traditional uses such as viewing my photos/videos much more than I thought I would. And it made some of my game apps lots more fun. 'Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit' is great on it, there are infrequent lags...

    Who has tried AirPlay Mirroring?

I know it, right? There is one three miles from my house. Every single time I walk in I walk back about at least $50 lighter. [edit: But I never regret it]

Yep, I'm off to the Apple store to get one. Called and they have them in stock. Wonder if they still have any 4S's LoL.

Yes, it'll improve in time I'm sure. Thanks for the info to both of you.

    Who has tried AirPlay Mirroring?

Ahh yeah, I had a feeling if it was possible it would be of poorer quality. I will probably get it anyway though, going to look for a used one on eBay/craigslist. It does seem like a cool feature after all. I am betting your photos mirror in high quality.

    Who has tried AirPlay Mirroring?

Cool. Do you have Netflix or any of the cable companies apps? I know you said everything mirrors but I just want to make sure even these do too. I have a Netflix ready TV and cable but X-Finity has a lot of shows that are not available anywhere but the app.

You cannot get into iTunes on your iPad or computer? If its a iPad did you try a soft and/or hard reset?

    Seems the same to me.

    Who has tried AirPlay Mirroring?

Is there a lag? Does it work with all apps? Please give your impressions of it. I'm debating getting a Apple TV specifically for this feature but haven't seen any solid reviews of it.

I agree with that. But man, there must be something to it. It's so popular they make lunch boxes, shirts and even key chains with the logo or whatever of it on them. It's for the birds!

Most overrated and underrated iPad apps?

    Exchanging iPads

Reread thread Maybe I am reading to much into certain posts here but either way I reread my posts here and saw I failed to say when I dropped the 3GS and got a replacement I didn't mention that I was honest and said so. The glass didn't crack but the display had these weird lines all over...

    Exchanging iPads

Exactly. Be honest, relaxed and assertive. In my experience Apple stores have excellent customer service. The employees are attentive and helpful. And they are most certaintly not uptight. They want you to enjoy your stuff and be satisfied with it. Most, if not all, of them love iDevices as much...

    Exchanging iPads

Yes, this seems to be a common problem. The part the button mashes down on becomes weakened. It can be fixed by taking the iPhone/iPad apart and sort of spreading out the connections to make it tighter to the button. But if it were me I'd take the time to use my warranty and get a brand new...

    Exchanging iPads

I don't think I have anything to "worry about". If I do please explain. I see nothing nefarious in this thread but I feel it is being insinuated that there is. I am not trying to be argumentative. I just don't understand the point of this vauge response. It's kinda creepy.
  38. totemynote

    Exchanging iPads

Yes, of course. But if there is something covered by the warranty that is defective even a little then an exchange is warranted. And perhaps there are things covered that some people may not be aware of yet have these same defects.
  39. totemynote

    Exchanging iPads

Heh, I just realized I could of just listed all the defects without describing the whole experiences. But I thought it might help to illustrate them so if others have similar relationships with their store it would help. So... 1. Dropped a 3GS. Screen not cracked but display had lines going...

    Exchanging iPads

I just thought to say about the home button issue... Two other people I know succeeded in an exchange for the same. And they didn't really have to mash theirs very hard, they just said it felt spongy. They drew the same employee I mentioned who is very pleasant to deal with.
