Unable to send email, but can receive

Since I can send/receive email fine on my laptop, and I can receive email fine, I think it's an issue with the output server information on the iPad. I think there's a password setting on the outgoing server information. My wife had to change her password, so I'll bet it needs to be changed...

Unable to send email, but can receive

It may be a bug, but I double-checked my settings and input; it's not user-error. In any event, I'm still puzzled as to how to fix it.

Unable to send email, but can receive

My wife's Yahoo email was hacked or something the other day, sending out "please help me with money, I'm stranded in Britain" messages to everyone in her contact email list. She changed her password immediately afterward, but ever since then she can't send email from her iPad 3 (she can receive...

    iPad to HDTV connection?

I bought the iPad adapter from Best Buy - the all-white one made by Apple. I can view programming through my TV with it, but the picture isn't very smooth, and it's certainly not HD. I'm really disappointed with it. I can currently hook my laptop to my HDTV and the picture through that is very nice.

Recommendation for a good child-proof iPad case

Big Lots sells iPad cases? I never would have thought.

Recommendation for a good child-proof iPad case

I need a case for my iPad in case my small kids drop it onto something hard - but I can't afford the top of the line items. Is there a budget-conscious case that's reasonably shock-proof?

    iPad to HDTV connection?

What the.....?! I saw the adapters on sale online and they all look as if they're only about three inches long! My HDTV hangs on my wall. What am I supposed to do - stand there and hold it right by the TV while I watch it? Surely someone makes such an adapter that's several feet long?

    iPad to HDTV connection?

I'm planning on dropping my cable TV service in lieu of Internet-only streaming to my TV. iPad-to-HDTV should work in this event, right? It's not like I'm paying a monthly carrier fee for my iPad, which justs gets its signal from our home WiFi connection.

    iPad to HDTV connection?

Cool. I'll look for that adapter. Unfortunately, I don't have the money in my wallet to go out and get an Apple TV just so I can watch programming off my iPad. I'll be happy to see Netflix or JustinTV. Maybe Crackle, too.

    iPad to HDTV connection?

Can an iPad be connected to one's HDTV in order to view things like Netflix, Youtube, JustinTV, etc? Like through an HDMI port? Is there such an adapter? I would be accessing the Internet through my home WiFi connection.

Putting a DVD movie onto your Wi-Fi-only iPad

No, but I can try that. I'm not overly optimistic at this point, though.

Putting a DVD movie onto your Wi-Fi-only iPad

Well, Handbrake was a total failure as far as being able to transfer my DVD to digital. It locked up twice and errored out when I tried to select the DVD drive as the source. As far as the other poster's program suggestion, it works only *after* the DVD movie is in digital form on the computer...

Ok, I think I see what the poster meant now.

Putting a DVD movie onto your Wi-Fi-only iPad

@kippyw, how can access WiFi when I'm driving down the Interstate? @donka, thanks. I'll give Handbrake a try once I get home.

Putting a DVD movie onto your Wi-Fi-only iPad

I have an iPad with only WiFi capability, and we're going on a road trip this weekend. I'd like to watch a select movie or two from my own library on the iPad, but the ones I want to watch don't come with digital versions (they're somewhat older movies). I know that Walmart can digitize your...

Sharing sync info on your laptop with the iPhone

    How is that done exactly?

Sharing sync info on your laptop with the iPhone

I synced my iPhone with my laptop as usual, then synced my iPad for the first time with the laptop and backed it up. It asked me if I wanted to backup using my user handle, and I said yes. But after all was said and done, I didn't see any apps that were on my iPhone on my iPad. :>((

Sharing sync info on your laptop with the iPhone

I've had an iPhone that I sync with my laptop periodically. Now that I have an iPad, can I just plug it in to my laptop, too, and the apps that were saved to iTunes from my iPhone will get installed on my iPad, or do I have to start from scratch on the iPad and download all the apps I currently...

How to tell if you have an iPad 3?

How can one tell just by looking at the iPad 3 or the box whether one has an iPad 3 or an iPad 2? I don't see anything obvious. And what's the best way to find out once one is in the iPad?

Why an iPad if you have an iPhone?

I'm sure I'll inevitably get one, though it won't be soon due to financial considerations. I'm not sure I want to abandon real-paper books yet. News is fine, but it's not the same as holding an actual book in your hands. I guess books will soon be a thing of the past. :>((

Why an iPad if you have an iPhone?

I would definitely enjoy watching Netflix movies on an iPad instead of on my tiny iPhone screen, and doing Facetime between the iPad and iPhone would be great for my family. I'm just curious as to what the reasons some of you got an iPad when you already had an iPhone/smartphone? I'm not much of...

Basic questions about the iPad from a possible buyer

Is there a way to watch a movie of any kind while traveling - like Interstate travel - without 3G service?

Basic questions about the iPad from a possible buyer

I have some basic questions about the iPad before I buy one - if I buy one. 1. Is it extra to have the Internet connection with it? If so, do you pay for a data limit? 2. Does it come with WiFi and 3G connectivity, or are they separate contracts? 3. Is a long-term contract required? 4. Do you...
