I have my blobs saved...but do i need to downgrade since im already on 5.0.1?

Hi gang. I am on 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak. I have a buyer for this ipad 1 however of course i want to wipe all my info off of it and rejailbreak I see i can just restore to 5.1 and do a tethered jailbreak however is there a way to restore to 5.0.1 and rejailbreak untethered? Please help!

i must be one of the few not having any luck with the windows version... it stays at the 'preparing for jailbreak' stage for about 30 minutes then i get a windows message saying 'absinthe has stopped working' during the prep phase i can see a little wheel turning in the upper left of the ipad...

update for anyone else with this problem- i ended up restoring without dfu mode, and without the shift click, ie just restore from itunes. seemed to work fine. i presume the risk of doing it this way is that there's a slight chance that apple releases 5.0.2 or 5.1 right when you're restoring...

cool thanks for the reply. but i'm not getting to far! restore provides error 1600. have checked tinyumbrella to ensure 'set hosts to cydia' is unchecked. tried two cables. hmmm... any other advice to bypass this error?

hi gang... based on all my reading i believe the time is right for me to upgrade from 4.3.3 which is jailbroken, to un jailbroken 5.0.1. i realize i will lose my jailbreak, and there is no guarantee that it will ever be released, but for me i'm willing to accept that risk. i haven't updated...

the jailbreakme.com site is showing up as a file directory for me this morning... not sure what it means but it might be a good sign if things are changing!

thanks, still no love! disabled comodo firewall and disabled avg...same error message! so weird might try installing itunes and ibackupbot on a separate machine....
