iPad Hung on IOS Update- Help!!!

Thanks, I was recluctant to reset it without asking around first. It seems to have done the job with no unwanted consequences (that I have noticed so far anyway).

iPad Hung on IOS Update- Help!!!

This morning my iPad Mini offered to update iOS and I accepted. An hour later it is stuck at about 33%. I have connected it to power to give it time to complete but I don't think that its going to happen. Has this happened to others? Any recommendations on the best way to recover? Concerned...

    Safari Keeps Getting Stuck

Resetting the iPad serms to hqve fixed the problem, thanks. Safar seems to be generally faster now. Perhaps it was an "out of memory" issue.

    Safari Keeps Getting Stuck

For the past few days, Safari repeatedly gets about 25% of the way into loading a page and gets stuck. No problems with the same page in Windows or Android browsers or even Firefox on the iPad. Am I alone is is this a common, unwelcome problem? Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

    Strange DHCP Problem

Thanks for the replies. I think that I will just stay with static IP. If that's answer, I am happy with that. Until a couple of years ago, I always used static IP and MAC filtering. When the number of wireless devices in the house went past 10, I got lazy and started to rely on DHCP:o...

    Strange DHCP Problem

My iPad has worked for 9 months on dynamic DHCP, suddenly, today, it stopped working. There was a tick next to the router in WiFi Settings but no wireless icon at the top left of the screen. The other strange thing was that the IP address was 169.xxx.xxx.xxx not 192.xxx.xxx.xxx as it should have...

    MOV Files on iPad?

I have an MOV file from my Canon camera which has been edited in QuickTime. Is there a way (there must be away) to send this movie to others via DropBox or iCloud? Attempts to do this so far, result in the iPad saying that it can display the file. [EDIT] It seems to be working now. Not sure...

    Music Player Pausing

I think that I have found the answer. When I timed it with a stop watch, the time was 10 minutes, to the second. I couldn't find a 10 minute time out anywhere, on the iPad or Apple TV, but I did notice that Mirroring as turned on in AirPlay. Turning it off seems to have fixed the problem.

    Music Player Pausing

It's still doing it, the player pauses and AirPlay turns off, both spontaneously. Any suggestions.

    Music Player Pausing

When I play music via AirPlay, the Music Player pauses for no apparent reason. I have to turn AirPlay back on and press Play (>) to resume. Has anyone else's seen this problem and, more importantly, does anyone know how to fix it?

    Paste Instead of Keyboard

One application was BPMonitor but I don't think that was the only one. I have been careful to tap rather than tap/hold but that doesn't seem to help. I have also tried pasting, even to another application, still no luck. Eventually the problem goes away but I am not sure what does it.

    Paste Instead of Keyboard

Sometimes, possibly in specific applications, when I touch an area that should bring up the keyboard, I get the Paste option instead and it seems impossible to get the keyboard. Any suggestions? I have a new iPad Mini with that latest iOS. I really like the iPad Mini by the way.

    Transferring Documents to New iPad?

When restoring the iPad 1 backup to the Mini, is there any control over what it restored? Thanks for the quick reply by the way. [Edit] Actually, everything is pretty well updated. Synchronising Pages and Numbers happened eventually, it's just not immediate.

    Transferring Documents to New iPad?

I have just purchased an iPad Mini to replace my iPad 1. Reloading apps that I had previously purchased on the iPad 1 couldn't be easier. It was good chance to leave out the apps that I don't use. Transferring documents seems to be very patchy. I was hoping to achieve this via iCloud but it...

iPad Mini - I like it

I assume that you are talking about the feel of the screen. All that I can say is that it feels that way. Perhaps the screen just needs a lighter touch register the keys.

iPad Mini - I like it

A few more comments:- One area that all iPads seems to win over Android (Galaxy Tab at least) is battery life. They both claim 10 hours and I don't think either of them achieve that in the real word. I find that I recharge the Galaxy every 3 or 4 days whereas with iPads it tends to be 5 to 7...

iPad Mini - I like it

I am really comfortable using both iPad and Android tablets, they each have their strengths and weaknesses. I leave the iPad at home for my wife and take the Galaxy to work and on photographic trips. I was using the Galaxy S II phone and was very happy with it. My company issued iPhone 4Ss with...

I thought the I saw somewhere that Google Maps could be downloaded from the App Store. I can't find it. Can anyone tell how to find it? Thanks.

iPad Mini - I like it

Having forsaken my iPad 1 for a Galaxy Tab 7.7", I have returned to the fold by buying an iPad Mini. I just so much prefer the smaller size and also appreciate Airplay Video Mirroring. The iPad definitively provides a more unified user experience than Android which can be a little rough...

    iPad v Android - 9 Months On

My phone is the Galaxy SII which has an 8 MP camera with autofocus. Tethering is very easy although I actually use prepaid wireless hotspot just because it's a better package price.

    iPad v Android - 9 Months On

u Exactly. I took the Galaxy on a trip to Tasmania week last and was able to organise my JPEG and RAW files into location based folders the way that I like to. When I got home I just copied the whole lot onto my NAS.

    iPad v Android - 9 Months On

Closed System (Walled Garden). I generally don't like this but must concede that the iPad is more "together" than Android. There are some things that I just can't do with the iPad. Open System. A real plus for Android but has it's draw backs. There are more rough edges and I always do financial...

WiFi Temperature Sensor or Weather Station?

Thanks, I will give NetAtmo some serious thought. One problem, for me, is that the promos don't seem to tell you much about what it actually does. I would have thought the home security, environment, and energy systems with WiFi sensors, using a tablet as a console, would be burgeoning market...

WiFi Temperature Sensor or Weather Station?

Does anyone know of WiFi temperature sensor or weather station? I am thinking of sensors inside and out side the house that can be viewed on the iPad (or other tablet). I am aware of a device called NetAtmo that does this, but it is quite pricey.

    iPad & Android - I use both

I agree with today's ruling in the UK that Samsung hasn't breached Apple copyright because it's are not as cool as the iPad. Seriously though, basic tablet functionality is generic in my view. The iPad has the wow factor but lacks some mundane functionality. I think that I am likely to keep...

    iPad & Android - I use both

Some more thoughts. Cloud based contacts and calendars are important here. I use Google but I assume that iCloud can also do the job. An iPad mini would fill one gap but not the lack of Flash or open file system. I am not a an advocate of of Flash, it's just that it is required on web sites...

    iPad & Android - I use both

A few months ago I purschased a Galaxy Tab 7.7 rather than update my orignal iPad. The main reason at the time was that I wanted a smaller lighter tablet to use on public transport, and I wanted to see what Android had to offer. Afer three months I find that I use both regularly. Neither...

    Original iPad and iOS 6

I have seen comments that iOS 6 will not be available for the original iPad. Isvthis correct? If so, does anyone know whether the newer version of Safari will be available for the iPad 1?

iPad compared to Galaxy Tab - My Thoughrs

Once again, I really don't get your point. This is simply a list of apps that I use on each tablet. It's not intended to have "impact". The subject of this thread makes it clear, these are just comments, I am not trying to convert anyone from iOS to Android. One app that I left off the Galaxy...

iPad compared to Galaxy Tab - My Thoughrs

I said 95% not 99% and I am pretty confident in that statement. In fact 99% is probably true as well. My point was supposed to be that it's not the headline, 6 figure number, of apps that counts, it's number of quality apps. I think this number is quite small for both iPad and Android. Here's...

iPad compared to Galaxy Tab - My Thoughrs

Neither statement is correct. I have lots of apps on both. My iPad has iOS 5.1.1 so it is right up to date. The only thing that I would like on the iPad but don't have is video mirroring. Sent from my GT-P6810 using Tapatalk 2

iPad compared to Galaxy Tab - My Thoughrs

I carry it in my backpack and can really feel the weight difference. I use it on public transport where the smaller size and lighter weght are significant. It also makes a very nice GPS unit in the car running CoPilot or Route 66. The iPad is definitely to big for that. Also the WiFi only has...

iPad compared to Galaxy Tab - My Thoughrs

I have owned an iPad for 2 years and a Galacy Tab 7.7 for 2 months. Here are my thoughts on both. Presented with the oportunity to upgrade to either the iPad 3 or an Andoid tablet I opted for the latter. The main reasons were the smaller/lighter hardware format and the open file system. The...

How do you see Apple killing Android forever ?

No problems with manstream apps. I have had problems with news/magazine apps, The Economist snd The Australian. I had apps for both on the iPad and, while there are equivalent Android apps, they don't work on my Galaxy Tab 7.7. I now access news sites directly. I am not sure why apps were ever...

How do you see Apple killing Android forever ?

You should check out the various screen sizes before you buy. I bought the 7.7" without looking at larger sizes (e.g. 8.9" ). I wouldn't want have chosen anything smaller. Something that never comes up with is compatibilty of apps. The important apps don't seem to be a problem though. Sent...
