71% of Android Users Affected by Malware in 2013, Compared to Only 14% for iOS

Thank you for reminding me of this article. It clearly reminds me of the reaction you'd get if you 'blaspheme' and even mention other blasphemous words such as Samsung or Android. How dare I do such a thing. Why is there so much hostility within the mobile industry? | PhoneDog

71% of Android Users Affected by Malware in 2013, Compared to Only 14% for iOS

I own both an iPad and an Android device. I didn't realize this was a "how dare you speak about anything else other than Apple!!!" forum. There are benefits to BOTH Android and Apple. Why the heck do I have to swear allegiance to ONE company? If you think Apple is not restrictive, then you're...

    Photon web browser

Flash capabilities are nice to have with Photon, but I was having more problems messing around with it for a few weeks that I just went back to Chrome and dealt with not having to look at Flash Player content. I don't know why modern tablets and phones these days are setup with operating systems...

    Ipad to Android phone's hotspot

Yes. I currently have this setup. You can also feed off your Android phone's 3G/4G LTE connection without having to pay for "data packages for tablets" if you root it. I flashed a ROM onto my Samsung S3 with WiFi Tether by TrevE Mod. Works great. I've been streaming gigs upon gigs of data...

Have the issues / bugs been resoved yet (hardware and OS)?

You're not kidding. I'm amazed on how Microsoft can release buggy software and operating systems year after year after year and still rake in dough. Android is kinda the same way. Granted, I love the customization and "power user" capabilities that Android's KitKat has given to most of its...

    New ipad question

It depends on what kind of setup you have. I personally have a rooted Android phone with Sprint's unlimited data plan. So I basically ride my iPad Air (Wifi only) on my Android phone's 4G LTE connection without having to buy "data packages" for a finite amount of data usage for a tablet. You can...

    ipad Mini as e reader?

I couldn't justify buying an iPad Mini AND an iPad Air, so I've just learned to be comfortable bringing my iPad Air around as my e-Reader and bringing it along with me for long commutes, doing laundry, DMV penance, etc. Besides, it's light enough as it is :-)

Best Buy to Offer Temporary Discounts for the iPhone 5s/5c and the iPad Air/Mini

I agree. Seriously, these days, 32gb should be the base starting storage point. And you're right, that extra $100 could be used on stuff like Apple Care+ to insure your device for 2 years or a decent case, etc. I'm curious what Best Buy had to do to pull a discount stunt like this with Apple...

New Member -- Question about keeping the iPad Air in the box.

There shouldn't be a problem. For all you know, that iPad you just bought was probably sitting on the shelves for months (unopened and sealed) before it left the showroom.

    Apple Q1 2014 Results: 51M iPhones, 26M iPads; $57.6B in Revenue & $13.1B in Profit

Interesting news. Nothing against Tim Cook, but ever since Jobs passed away, Apple's stock has slowly dipped with a few spikes here and there, but it has been a slow decline (while Google's stock seems to scarily grow exponentially - I haven't seen stock blow up in price like this since Enron)...

Anyone use one of those wireless storage drives/devices? Do they work good?

That's the thing. I have an unlimited data plan with my Samsung S3 Android phone. And one of the best things you can do with an Android phone is root it. Therefore, my iPad Air connects to my S3 via Wifi and I've been streaming gigs upon gigs of data without any repercussions or extra $$$ money...

    Addicted to my I pad

I love my iPad Air too. I'm not biased over Android or Apple. I own products for both operating systems (I have a Nexus 7 and an iPad Air). I hate to say this, but Apple's iOS 7 is slowly making their operating system similar to that of Android's. Apple may have the app store advantage with...

Have the issues / bugs been resoved yet (hardware and OS)?

I was cursed with the "yellow tinted screen" for my first purchase of an iPad Air. It actually took 3 exchanges with my local Best Buy to get a 'sweet' iPad Air with no screen issues. I would expect these quality assurance issues with ASUS products (their Nexus 7 may be a hot commodity, I prefer...

Will the lightning connector ever be supported ?

It's bad enough that there were car manufacturers who had built-in iPod/iPhone dock connectors with the old connector, let alone this new (and fragile) lightning option. I must've snapped 3-4 lightning connectors because they are so fragile and thin that a simple bend the wrong way here or there...

My iPad has started freezing and rebooting after I try to connect my apple keyboard

I had the same problem. My Apple OEM wireless keyboard would connect, then freeze my iPad Air. Oh well, I think a lot of this has to do with the new integration of iOS 7. There has already been an announcement that an update is right around the corner (thank goodness, this has been a shaky...
