I noticed an offer from "3" in the UK who will sell a MiFi jobbie for £50 and a £10 PAYG sim for 3G access to their network. Seems like good value. Any UK guys know of a better way to go?

Before seeing your replies I decided to plug the iPad into my wife's laptop, to see if that would make the pad spring to life. On her PC, iTunes said somethng about the iPad being locked and that it would have to be factory reset. I allowed it to do so and the iPad...
iPad and Windows Vista.
Downloaded and installed new itunes, then asked it to upgrade to 4.02. All seemed OK until I noticed iPad had the "connect to itunes" logo displayed and Windows was trying and failing to install the driver for it.
If I go into device manager and locate the Apple USB...
iPlayer and a variety of video players I have tried seem to have problems syncing the soundtrack with the video. Furthermore, it seems to wander in and out of sync as I watch.
Anyone else seen this issue?
I had that problem. It turned out that my previous iTunes sync operation had buggered up things, leaving me with exactly the symptom you describe. Sync again, making sure you do indeed have music on the pad. Should be OK then.
The Airport Express - so it does NOT need to be tethered to a router or modem with ethernet cable? I can jut plug it in some place else in the house and it'll work wirelessly a a kind of WIFI "booster"? So I could use the pad in the garden, for example?
I am sure, if you dload the SDK, which I did some time ago, that it tells you the process. I didnt get further than a cursory read, as I now realise I'd need a Mac to develop for it :mad:
