Actually, I just did some quick googling and it looks like there are some 3rd party software that will restore it for you but I can't comment on how it works or if it is any good. If you google for 'idisksoft' you'll see what I'm talking about. Anyways, good luck..

Yeah, I think your only option at this point is as Dungeondan mentioned and that's to try and pull it from an iTunes backup if you have it.

I actually just got one called the Joby GorillaMobile Yogi and I'm loving it. It's a flexible stand which is nice and it's able to mount to things as well. Probably too soon to give it a complete thumbs up but in the week that I've had it..I have no complaints.

I've been using Otterbox products for both my iPhone and iPad and they work really well. The otterbox for the iphone is a little big for my liking but it has saved me quite a few times from having a broken phone.
