I can't see my iPad 2 on iTunes anymore?

When syncing to iTunes it keeps freezing. Why?

Ok I've transferred my movies to one of my apps , now on iTunes it's saying syncing art work. What is art work and why is it taking so long to sync?

Another things is I've transferred my movies on these apps but now it is syncing artwork , what is artwork ?

I don't get it. How does it covert it to allow you to watch it on ur iPad or do I have to covert it myself. Anyways I just use Flex player it works on that app and Goodplayer
