External GPS device vs. IPad Internal GPS

Mike, The reception issue has happened a few times but I think your right about the gps not receiving a clear signal. I currently fly with the ipad on my lap but i'm planning on getting a yoke mount soon. This should put the ipad up higher and provide a larger field of view for the gps to...

iPad Certified by the FAA for Use in Cockpit as Electronic Flight Bag

I think Jeppessen is really putting themselves out of business. I called and spoke with a sales rep yesterday and the cost of their "ipad app" is $787.00!! Plus, they won't offer the georeference function like foreflight and wingX do. Just my two cents but they are doing themselves any favors!

External GPS device vs Internal GPS

I'm using foreflight but i'm thinking of switching to wingX. Having the ability to view the enroute maps as well as the approach plates would be helpful. WingX got it right on this one. Does anyone have any other pros/cons with wingX?

ForeFlight iPad Glare in the Cockpit

DaveMurf, just curious if you are wearing polarized glasses in the cockpit. I use polarized lenses and some of our mfd screens are visible and some aren't. I haven't had an issue with being able to see my ipad screen but I do fly in the northwest where the word sun doesn't exist:)
