Exposure to liquid like that can damage pretty much any component in an iPad. I'm guessing the mainboard is shot. You could try replacing it, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth. I would sell it on eBay for parts. You should able to sell it for enough to cover a used netbook.

I bought an iPad 2 last month. I would buy the iPad Mini just for the sheer portability. As much as I love my iPad, it's not nearly as portable as my old Kindle Fire. My Kindle Fire actually fit in the felt lined cell phone compartment in my backpack.

Is this a virtual system that runs on top of iOS, or a remote desktop type app? Either way, that's pretty cool. Kind of like BootCamp for the iPad.
