My cell phone has wifi, but its a work phone. Its an HTC Evo Swift 4G. Would I need to get a password from my employer, or is it in my phone somewhere?

I have a router. Just haven't been using it. So, if I don't have a router hooked up, does that mean I don't have wireless?

I am still trying to get onto my new ipad2. I have high speed internet for my home computer, although no router, just the modem. Also have xbox connected to modem. My ipad is not picking anything up, in order to turn WIFi on. Do I need to plug ipad2 into the modem as well? Hope you can tell...
