    Folders for the Kindle app?

Thank you. If anyone figures it out, please let me know. It's getting difficult trying to remember either title (or author) anymore ;) . If I could categorize them, it would be much easier.

    Folders for the Kindle app?

I did a search - I can't believe I'm the only one with the problem - but couldn't find anything, so I have to ask (sorry!). Most of my eBooks come from Amazon. I had a Kindle prior to my iPad, so I have quite a few (nearly 300) books. Sorting them by Title or by Author gets a bit tedious with...

    Converted DVDs and iTunes Movies

Copy protection is not a problem with the commercial programs; that's one of the things they're designed to do. But that doesn't answer your Handbrake problem - and I can't answer that, so I'll leave it for someone else to handle. Good luck ... it's all very frustrating, isn't it?

    Converted DVDs and iTunes Movies

Thanks for the update. Just for grins and giggles, I'll have to look into that. However, I spent my weekend evaluating different programs for purchase, including a lot of the ones mentioned here on the forum. I finally laid down the $$ for a program from Wondershare, DVD to iPad. I has 3...

    Deleting files from iPad?

I FIGURED IT OUT :) :) :) On the screen that shows the movies, select one you want to delete from the iPad. Put your finger on it and hold: it will "grey" out and a little X will show up on the upper left corner. Tap the X and it will ask you if you wish to delete it. Confirm and VOILA! It no...

    Deleting files from iPad?

I have been checking out various DVD converters, and the only way to see if/how they would play on iPad was to load them into iTunes and sync. Well, that left me with a bunch of trash until I found the one I wanted. I deleted the unwanted movies from iTunes; I've deleted the files from my...

WiFi connectivity: WEP vs WAP (and neither works)

Because I'm using FIOS (a fiber optic system), I don't think I have the option of bypassing Verizon's router. The operational phrase is "I don't think": I'll have to call them and ask, I guess.

WiFi connectivity: WEP vs WAP (and neither works)

First off, the only WiFi I have is Verizon FIOS. I have it at home, at work, and at my boss's house. I haven't tried hotspots, so I'm not sure how that reacts. The problem is the iPad won't remember the password for the WiFi. Worse, now it won't even connect. Originally, the router was set up...

    Converted DVDs and iTunes Movies

From what I understand, HandBrake is a 2-step process, yes? The ones I've been looking at (and for) are kinda like "DVD Conversion for Dummies": they're single step "rip and convert" programs. I don't have nearly the time I'd like to have to mess with program evaluation; one of the problems is...

    Converted DVDs and iTunes Movies

I tried some of the freebies, but was unimpressed with the quality. They may have been OK on an iPhone or an iTouch with their smaller screens, but they were unacceptable for the larger screen of iPad. I've been fooling around with two of the five programs I purchased (I've been looking for...

    Converted DVDs and iTunes Movies

I'm still in my (apparent) never-ending search for a simple conversion, straight from DVD to iTunes. Some of the programs I've tried do a real decent job of getting a movie fit for iPod or iTouch, but they don't do so well on iPad's larger screen. I tried converting into an Apple TV format -...

Help with a rip from DVD to iPad compatible format

OK, last night I purchased the program ... "assuming" that if it was for iPad alone, that it would be what I needed with no problems. The registration key was a bit late in arriving, but that's OK: it got here. Then I tried to copy Avatar. It worked, but it brought it down in 3 installments...

Help with a rip from DVD to iPad compatible format

Thank you for your suggestions, Gentlemen. I got antsy and purchased a copy of 123CopyDVD Gold ... after all, the box said it would do everything I needed . I just got the opportunity to try it. After several hours of pre-processing and then converting, it flashed a screen that said...

Help with a rip from DVD to iPad compatible format

OK, I'm on PC. And whereas I'd LOVE to have a free program to rip and convert DVD's to something iPad friendly, I'm also not adverse to paying for something that will actually work. And I'm not talking about a program that requires a PhD in technology to decipher: I want something simple and...
